Busy 2019 Winter Season…

Vacationing! And not enough blogging 😉

We were fortunate to visit Jamaica and stay at the Tryall Club which boasts a PGA Championship course (yes, Rob was in his glory playing on it). And we sailed the turquoise Caribbean waters a couple of days there, hiked the crystal clear aquamarine Mayfield Falls and cliff jumped (from Rick’s Cafe, of course).

Then on to St. John’s with our college-aged kids for great snorkeling and hiking (lots of sea turtles, stingray, starfish, eel, sharks and colorful fish, together with sweeping views of the island and sightings of Petroglyph carvings of the Taino Indians on the Reef Trail).

Then we wrapped up February with a more mild stay in Naples, FLA visiting our parents (though we did enjoy lots of alligators, turtles and birds during our self-guided adventuring in and around the Everglades) and just enjoying swimming, rollerblading, biking and walking in the beautiful weather every day.

And in and around our vacations this Winter, we’ve enjoyed, and are always appreciative for, the guests who stay with us when it’s a bit of a tundra outside. Often our Winter season guests at Bella Rose just relax in front of the fireplaces and in the jetted tubs (although we’re often impressed by how many get outdoors to ski, snowshoe, or hike). Our guests also enjoyed Canandaigua’s Fire and Ice Festival this February which had many more activities than the prior year as the word gets out of this annual event (dozens of ice carvings; mac and cheese, brew, and hot cocoa competitions, horse carriage rides, huskies and alpacas, and more). Our Winter guests continue to take advantage of the excellent museums that are open year-round like the Glenn Curtiss Museum (very fun and one of our favorites!), Ganondagan, Memorial Art Gallery and the George Eastman Museum (love, love the Dutch Connection floral display there every February). And Rob and I continue to explore Finger Lake trails this Winter (there are hundreds, so we’re still surprised by what we discover even though we have adventured in the Finger Lakes well over 20 years now).

We hope this Winter finds you taking a bit of time for yourselves for some rest, relaxation and fun activities or at least finds you planning some enjoyment for when the weather warms (you must check out concert line up for the 2019 season – one of its best in years!)

In the meantime, our best wishes to you and yours, Rob and Jill
